Chapter 69. Familiar Faces
I did not expect that. But the lawns were well manicured and so were the tall trees and the bushes. Everything looked so perfect and I already loved it here.
It was not a long drive from the mansion here so that meant commuting here would not be a hassle for me. There was a guard in a reflector jacket, waving for me to go to the right, and so that was what I did.
I followed his directions and I had parked the car in no time, next to other cars. I turned off the engine and removed my seatbelt but then a sharp and heavy pain hit right above my abdomen.
It was not physical pain, it was an emotional one; one that I knew all too well. The emotional numbness was fading away and reality was setting in.
I swallowed and lay my head on the steering wheel, trying my best to get a hold of myself. I did not need this right now.
I needed to enjoy my day.
