Chapter 7
She was sucked in, and then she felt like she was falling off a cliff. She spat out on a beach. She landed on her stomach, and she was a little disheveled. Her hair was coming out of its braid. She swiftly fixed it and tied it back in a ponytail. Her backpack, which she didn’t realize she still had on from school earlier that morning, fell off and was a foot away from her.
Everything looked blurry around her, and then Julie realized that her glasses had fallen off. She looked around and felt the ground with her hands until she landed on them. She shoved them back on. Then she got up, grabbed her backpack, and began to look around.
It appeared to be a deserted island. The sand was soft and warm, with no rocks mixed in. Julie looked out at the water. There were some waves, but it wasn’t rough. They were only about a foot high, and they crashed at the shore every few seconds, a steady beat like a song. Julie turned back to
