Chapter 35
After our walk in the park, I went to Vince’s apartment to get my laptop back since he still hadn’t returned it to me. Perhaps he didn’t know how after we got into an argument the last time we talked.
“Thanks,” I said, receiving the bag from him at the front door of his apartment.
“You should eat first.”
“I don’t want to intrude.”
“I insist.”
I wanted to reject the offer, but Vince’s mom suddenly passed by and stopped when she noticed me. “What are you doing here?” She asks as she approaches us.
“She’ll be having dinner with us.”
“Hmm. Okay.” I thought she’d say I should go, but she’s surprisingly calm. I couldn’t forget how she spoke to me at the hospital, but she seemed fine now. “Then, come in. What are you waiting for?”
I wanted to leave, but she was waiting for me to enter, so I did. “T-Thank you.”
