Chapter 6
I mourned for a couple of days when I returned to my hometown. Aunt Josephine and my friends comforted me at the time.
I felt down, seeing that the reason I was still standing was lying down right in front of me.
Lisa and Jia went with me to the burial, and the ceremony went peacefully. I cried afterward, but knowing I wasn’t alone gave me light.
The next few days, I walked around town since it’s been so long since I got here. My feet had placed me to a few places I cherished and felt nostalgic about, from the usual hangout place, 7-eleven, to the best diner meal in town, Dine Mesa.
The one that made me stay the longest was the park. It was filled with unforgettable memories. Some I hope to forget but are significant in my life. Anyhow, I sat on a bench and could feel the night breeze after a while.
