Chapter 10
She knew she had crossed a line she was not meant to. Snooping around was something that even Zayla thought was too much, even for a friend. She trusted that there was a right time for every secret to be revealed. Now, with a quivering resolve, she understood that although she wasn’t wrong for wanting to know more about her new friend, she had been impatient. Even with so many questions now in her mind after seeing just one photo, she knew she had lost the chance to get the answers tonight.
“I’m sorry, Kayden. I didn’t mean to. I was just curious and wanted to see the pictures,” Zayla slowly backed away from the hallway as she quietly apologized, careful not to hit another nerve of Kayden’s.
