Chapter 7
“Welcome to Walter Mitty’s Restaurant & Bar!” Kayden held a hand out and helped Zayla out of her car.
“Wow, Kayden. Are you sure this is new? I mean, not to offend. It looks homey and like... You know. It’s been here all along. Like it really belongs here.” Zayla couldn’t describe the vibe she was getting as Kayden’s hands were on the small of her back, gently leading her toward the doors of the restaurant. It was a weekday evening, too, which gave it a much quieter and more peaceful feel, with just a few customers milling around.
“You should see the inside. If its exterior already gives you those feelings, wait ‘til you come in.” Kayden was getting giddy already as their evening was turning into a better curve. Jackson and everything else were forgotten.
“Good evening, table for two?” a waiter asked Kayden, sparing Zayla a welcoming glance as well.
