Alana's POV
"He's the best," a woman says as I walk by her side. I'm at the event in one of the dresses I bought a couple of days ago. It's white and tight-fitting, and I like how the straps complement my look, while the waves in my hair seem to enhance my features. I argued with Donna for a while this morning; she wanted me to tell Jack that working together was going to be impossible from now on. She made that clear to us yesterday, and I'm sure that was enough.
"Miss Alana, you look stunning tonight," a man with black hair, overweight, and dressed formally approaches me and hands me a glass. I know him; he's one of the top executives in the New York companies, Theodore. He's known for making money faster than anyone else. Some claim he's involved in shady dealings, and I don't doubt it. He looks like he does whatever he pleases whenever he pleases.
