Chapter 31
Taylor’s POV
As we sat in silence, waiting for our food to be served, I couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease. Grant’s cold response to my questions about Mavi left me with more questions than answers. I couldn’t understand why he didn’t want me to approach Mavi or why he seemed so guarded about their past.
“Are you okay?” I asked Grant, breaking the silence between us.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he replied, giving me a small smile that didn’t quite reach his eyes.
I couldn’t shake off the feeling that something was off, but I decided not to push him further at that moment. Instead, I shifted my attention to the surroundings, trying to distract myself from the growing tension.
The aroma of food wafted through the air, momentarily capturing my senses. I glanced at the menu, my appetite dwindling as my thoughts remained fixated on the encounter at the restaurant. I stole a glance at Mavi and the girl, their conversation appearing serious.
