Chapter 39

(Ava’s POV)

Lily and I split ways as soon as we get to the hotel, with her going to start her afternoon shift and me going to my office to read the morning's report.

I enter into the logbook the fact that Jamie and Jaymee left today, and add that we need to find two more staff members, or the workload is going to be hell for the rest of us. I'll speak to Dylan when I see him today.

After a while, it's time for my routinely patrols. Grabbing my clipboard and checking to see my face still has that stoic, disciplinary expression that makes people quiver in fear or look at me with respect. It really depends on what state I find them in. If they're working hard, I give them a rare smile, if I catch them sleeping I shake my head and make them do jumping jacks till the sleep is well and thoroughly shaken off, which results in them looking at me with fear the next time I walk past. Sigh, such is the life of the Executive Housekeeper I guess.
