Chapter 15

Adrian's POV

I'd been staring at this page for over an hour without seeing what was on the paper. I tried concentrating, but my mind kept going back to one particular person, Lola.

I needed to get a grip on myself, for Moon's sake. I didn't like how she made me feel, yet I wanted to feel everything with her. The way she seemed to stiffen around me made me sad and angry, but I had no one to blame but myself.

I was about to damn all consequences and just pack up the paperwork I was working on and go to keep my mate close to me when my dad walked in.

"Hey, Adrian," Dad called out to me as he walked into my office, looking fit as ever. I swear this man never ages.

"Oh, hi, Dad," I called out to him and stood up to meet him halfway, sharing a manly hug.

"What are you up to, little man?" he ruffled my hair while asking, making me grunt in disapproval. I love this man, but sometimes he has to realize that I'm no longer his 'little Drian.' I'm 24 now.
