Chapter 14. The Reception

Leah’s POV

His lips touched mine and before I knew it, he was kissing me. It only lasted for a few seconds but those were the longest seconds of my life. 

Then it ended. It finally ended. He was no longer kissing me, he was just standing and staring at me now; a look in his eyes that I could not quite place.

I tried but I just could not decipher what he was feeling from looking into his eyes. He looked like he was intrigued, but at the same time, he looked annoyed and maybe satisfied.

It was a confusing look, but I tried my best not to think too hard on it. I had bigger matters to focus on.

And that was when l was pulled back into reality by the loud cheering of everyone. They all looked so happy and excited.

But I knew that some of them could see that I did not want to be there. This was the last place that I wanted to be. But it was not like I had much of a choice anyway.

I was already missing my mom. I was so worried
