Chapter 17. The Calvary
Leah’s POV
I swallowed hard, staring at Jules. He looked so angry and annoyed, but I could see that he was worried. And not about himself, but about me.
“I told them the truth. I told them that I was kidnapped. I told them where I was.”
He unfolded his arms from his chest. “How did you even know where you are?”
“The receptionist. She helped me. She told me that I was in Columbia and then told me the name of the hotel.”
Jules ran his hand over his face and sighed. “Leah, please stop this. You’re already in this. There is no escaping. Stop trying. The sooner you stop and accept your fate, the better. But if you keep trying to escape and cause problems for this family, you would end up six feet under. You’re not the first girl.”
I took in his words. He was making a lot of sense. But did he just expect me to just accept this fate? My entire life had been ripped away from me by people I didn’t even know existed a few days ago.
