Leah’s POV

This was a trick. It had to be. I had a feeling that Rafael was just trying to get me to open up and express myself and that he was going to make sure to punish me. But at the same time, I was dying to speak up. 

I really wanted to do so. I really wanted to give him a piece of my mind. But I was scared, and from the look on Jules face, it was clear that he wanted me to keep my mouth sealed. 

I locked eyes with the son of the mafia boss and I just let go. I decided that I was already in some deep sh*t and had even been slapped, so what was the use? 

“I don’t deserve any of this,” I began, and I could see the look of disappointment in Jules’s eyes from the corner of mine. “I don’t know you. I have never heard of you in my life,” I continued. “I have been through too much to have to go through this. My mom has gone through way too much to have to deal with her daughter being kidnapped.”
