Chapter 16. My Brilliant Plan

Leah’s POV

I was standing there, so scared and nervous at the same time. I kept glancing around, feeling like my disguise wasn’t enough. 

I felt like Rafael could tap my shoulder at any second and just smirked at me before commanding his men to take care of me. And not in a good way. In the disappearing kind of way.

My heart thumped in my chest and I focused on my breathing and the call. I was soon dispatched to someone to talk. I was no longer hearing the voice of my mom.

It was now a guy. He sounded relaxed and very collected. I like how my mother was. “Leah? That’s your name, right?”

“Yes,” I replied in a shaky tone. “I’m Leah. I was at my best friend’s party and then we had a fight so I left. I got into the car and drove away. While I was on my way, a car came out of nowhere and just ran into me.” I did not even wait for the man to tell me to explain, I just started to do so.
