Leah’s POV
Sasha adjusted herself on the couch, running her hand through her perfect hair as she continued to eye me. The smirk that was on her face faded, and that made my heart drop.
“They’re not here, they're out of the country; on one of the many trips that they take four to five times a year. They gave me permission to handle you.”
I swallowed hard. “Permission to handle me? Does this mean that—“
“Calm down, Leah. I had a talk with them about everything. I told them that even though you had broken your end of your deal, they had broken theirs too. I told them that I didn’t mind the world knowing that I’m not their legitimate daughter.” There was sadness in her eyes, but there was also…relief.
