Chapter 26. Masculinity
Leah’s POV
I watched as he continued to lean against the door. He had a smile on his face that held danger and curiosity. He waited for me to say something but I just watched him.
I was drained. I was tired of this whole game that he and his family were playing. I wanted out. I wanted to go back home. I wanted to go back to my mom.
I was not built for this. If anything, they made a mistake. I was the wrong one that they had chosen for this role. But it seemed like no matter how long I waited for them to figure that out, the more unlikely that became.
“Tik tok…I don’t have forever.” He folded his arms on his chest.
“I’m not going to do it,” I finally answered. I don’t know what he was expecting me to say, but as badly as I wanted to go back home. I did not have it in me to kill anyone, let alone, somebody’s mom.
