Chapter 55. Dance Like Nobody’s Watching
Leah’s POV
My heart… for the first time in a long time, it slowed. It was not racing as if I was being chased by a wild animal. I was not anxious or nervous. I felt like time had slowed.
I looked around, the world had stopped. Everyone was still dancing, and I could see Sasha and her friends, they were staring at me, probably wondering what was happening. Or they were just intrigued as to what I was going to do or say.
Because I think they knew what was happening. They had given me some kind of drug that I had no idea what it was. I swallowed, dropping the red cup from my hand. It was empty so it didn’t matter.
Then the edges of my lips started to twitch, before I knew it, I was smiling. I felt so light, and it was almost as if my brain was moving like a turtle. I was so aware of everything though. It was like I could feel everything so strongly.
All of my senses were heightened, and a fog filled my mind that mad
