Chapter 53. The Bass

Leah’s POV

We finally left the house and as we were leaving, I saw a car just arrived. It slowed down and the doors were opened for whoever that was inside. It was Rafael’s parents, it looked like they may have been coming from a date or maybe a dinner. 

They were dressed really nicely. 

They ran their eyes over me, studying what I was wearing and how I looked. I did not know whether they liked it or not, but it was clear that they were intrigued. 

“Mom, and Dad, we’re heading to the party,” Rafael told his parents as he led me past them. 

They did not say anything, they just simply watched us as their son led me to his sports car. He unlocked it and we got in before he drove us out of the compound. When we were on the road, silence filled the car. 

The soft hum of the engine was all that filled the space. That was until he said, “You look nice.” 

I was pulled out of my thoughts and I looked at
