Chapter 113. Confrontation

Leila’s POV

“Follow me,” Dominic ordered in a voice low and cold as the Antarctica snow, shoving his chair backward from the dining table. I’d barely wrapped my head around the steel in his eyes when he was already striding to the door.

I wanted to stand, but there was Luca’s hand on my arm that restrained me.

“Don’t go in there, Leila,” he warned, “You don’t have to do this alone.”

But Dominic had already reached the door, spinning on his heel to glare at us. “This is between Leila and me. Stay out of it.”

I turned to Luca, concern etched across his features, but I couldn’t back down. Dominic’s anger was a storm brewing in the air and one that I needed to face. I wriggled free from Luca’s grasp. “I’ll be fine. Just… give us a moment.”

Luca’s face screwed up into a picture of resignation, and I knew he disagreed, but he stepped aside, allowing Dominic to usher me into the room.
