Leila’s POV

Angrier than before, Jocelyn went beet red with indignation. She stared accusingly across at Dominic, her voice low and with almost contained violence.

“Are you insane?” she spat. “You’re actually choosing her over me? She’s a kid, Dominic! No education, no experience, nothing of value to her name whatsoever! What on earth are you going to do with a 19-year-old girl?”

Dominic’s eyes closed now, gaze set, unswayed. “Enough, Jocelyn. You don’t get to insult Leila like that. Our relationship is none of your business.”

Jocelyn’s eyes flashed, refusing to back down. “Oh, you think I don’t see what’s happening here?” she lashed out accusingly as her glare turned to me. “She’s manipulating you, Dominic! She slept with Luca, your own brother, and now she’s playing with the both of you to climb up the ladder and make something of herself. And you and Luca are both foolish enough to fall for her tricks!”
