“That’s just so great, isn’t it? All of us for dinner,” Jocelyn trilled, the only light in an oppressive atmosphere that brooded over the table like a storm cloud.

I shifted in my seat as the tension rolling off Dominic from across the table crawled over my skin. His gaze set on Luca and never strayed, cold and unblinking, like a predator who would bide his time, waiting for just the right moment to strike.
