“You appear lost in those pages,” I said, walking into the library where Leila sat, lost into the pages which lay open before her. The soft silence of the room was punctuated only by the mild rustling of the pages as she lifted her head and smiled softly.

“I didn’t hear you come in,” she said, delicately shutting the book and laying it on the side. “It’s just been a while since I had the time to read something for fun.”

“How do you feel now that Michael’s back and healthy?” I asked, sitting down across from her. A gleam of light lit up her face as I spoke about her brother.

“He’s doing so much better,” she replied the slightest trace of relief in her voice. “I can’t even tell you how glad it makes me to see him running around again. Thank you, Dominic. I owe you so much.”
