I was deeply disheartened watching Lillian walk away from us again. She had no idea how much I held back when she left our bedroom. I wanted to run after her the very next minute.

We had different statuses, and being just Betas, we had no right to go against Lillian or anything she said. But we were scared of being rejected by her. That was what we didn’t want.
