Rufus’s POV
“It’s nice of you to join me,” Hazel said, a smirk slid onto her full lips as she swirled a glass of wine between her fingertips.
“It’s nice to be here,” I said in reply, forcing a smile on my face. I felt uncomfortable in this cottage, it had an eerie atmosphere and I began to wonder if I should rethink my decision.
“For Freya, as well,” Hazel said before taking a sip of her wine. “You must really love her.”
“More than anything,” I said in quick response. I knew I had to focus on the primary reason I was here, for Freya. To help my wife live a life without the suffering she went through at the moment.
“How careless of me, I forgot to offer you a drink,” Hazel said, swirling her fingers in the air. “Wine? Champagne?” She asked. “Something…stiff,” she paused, her eyes dropping to my crotch, and I noticed her eyes begin to shimmer with excitement.
“Just water is fine,” I said, clearing my throat as I felt the nerves begin to fill
