Standing in the shower, I let the hot water flow over my body. I enjoyed the warmth on my face, cascading down my hair and dripping off my shoulders.

“I’m an idiot,” I said out loudly, grabbing the shower gel. I began to lather it in my palm before applying it to my body. “A fucking idiot.”

I felt terrible, deceiving Freya as I was. My own wife, I was lying to her. As I washed myself, I wondered if I was making the right decision after all. Should I back out? Find a way to rid Freya of this curse on my own? It seemed impossible.

What did Hazel want with me today anyway, especially so early in the day. What could she be expecting me to do? Run a few errands perhaps, I had to stay positive now. Hazel and I had agreed to work together to get what we both wanted.
