Chapter 127. The Basement
Rufus’s POV
“Will you be okay on your own?” Hazel asks as I watched her pull on her coat. I had never seen her wearing so many layers. Usually she wore very little, which left even less to the imagination. “I’ve left you a list of jobs, but I need to go run some errands.”
“Sure,” I said, peering down at the list Hazel had pushed into my hand. “These are all basic home improvement jobs,” I said clearing my throat. I had to admit, I wasn’t expecting Hazel to ask such normal things of me.
“Are you not up to the task, Rufus Crimson?” Hazel asked, a smirk forming on her lips. “I assumed someone with hands as rough as yours would be experienced in getting yourself down and dirty.”
I laughed, kind of insulted by Hazel thinking I had no clue what I was doing. “Please, I know my way around a drill and some hardwood.”
“I bet you do,” Hazel said, her eyes shimmered as I watched her gaze drop to my crotch. “You’ll have to show me what you can do with a screw
