Chapter 190. Jared’s Guilt
Jared’s POV
It had taken a while, but my body had started to relax into the seat of the car the further into the journey I became. Even though I had no idea where I was taking Lara and myself, I was tempted to just keep driving until the car ran out of gas and checked into the nearest hotel.
The roads were quiet now, dark clouds loomed in the night sky covering the light of the moon and rain began to hit the windscreen as I drove into the night.
The sound of the rain was so calming, and I began to feel more peaceful and I had just about managed to soothe my mind. My eyes shifted from the road to the rear view mirror to keep an eye on my sister. Lara was now fast asleep, her once pained and tortured expression had turned to one that was peaceful and resting. Knowing my sister was finally able to rest, eased my mind incredibly and it was then I leaned back into the car seat and slowed my speed a little.
