Chapter 56
Leila's POV
I increased my pace as I hugged myself. My heart racing as my eyes scanned the forest. This was the same place I was almost killed at two years ago and I couldn't help but be paranoid. I heard the rustling of leaves and I stopped to make sure I was not hearing things.
I waited for few minutes and just when I had concluded that I was only imagining things, I heard the sound again. Someone was in the forest with me. Was I going to die? I held my breath as long as I could and walked slowly but the sounds where drawing nearer and when I could bear it no more, I broke into a race.
My leg hit a fallen log and I cried out in pain. I could hear the sound of my predator approached and I struggled to get on my feet but I fell down. I closed my eyes waiting for it to descend on me.
I accepted my death in good faith. I was probably going to rot here because no one would search for me. I waited for it to grab my skin and have it as it food but all I got was a
