Ray. One of the members of the dark king’s elite force. He was a brutal war machine, and he was known was his strength. The dark king had picked him up from the streets, where he was blindly killing people without hesitation. He was untameable, but the dark king brought him to submission.

He listened to no one but the dark king.

I frowned, sweat dripping from my forehead. He was a bad match for me, as I could not handle people who were more brawn than brain. Ray walker closed to me, in an attempt to intimidate me, but I took a few steps back.

“Why are you in the human realm?” I asked.

Ray blinked at me, like I had asked a completely dumb question. “You don’t know?”

I frowned. “Know what?”

“His majesty assigned me to this branch. I am to watch over the goods, and any pests that comes in here to disrupt our activities, like you.”

My heart dropped when realisation hit me. If he was assigned to this branch, then that would
