Chapter 141. Wolfs Bane

Suzie POV

The dark king’s laughter resonated through the whole room, leaving me in a state of shock. He seemed unfazed by my words and the hope I had built was dissipating slowly. I frowned at him, and he looked at me, a wide grin on his lips.

“You think they will save you? That is the funniest joke I have heard today.”

I bit my inner lips as I tried to quell the anger rising in my throat. How dare he belittle my words like it was nothing? I watched him rise from the bed and walk over to one of the glass doors. He pushed them open and I sat up on the bed as my eyes followed his every movement.

His rubbed his chin as he looked up to the clear blue sky. After what felt like an hour, his eyes lit up and he snapped his head to me. The smirk he had on his lips sent a shiver up my spine. This wouldn’t be good.

I walked back up to me and grabbed a hold of my chin, while making direct eye contact with him.
