Chapter 462

Matthew and Gretchen met me at Quinn’s place. Matthew had stopped to have a copy of the key made. He showed me where one was hidden, then checked the generator and turned it on so we’d have electricity. He showed us how to turn it off and on. Quinn sometimes lost power due to winter storms, so he had a whole house generator. Once the electricity was on, we had water because the pump had power.

“I’ll have more fuel delivered for the generator,” he said, “but the power company should have electricity back on within a couple days.”

“Where’s Rose and Isabelle now that their Master is gone?”

“They’re both up in Canada, visiting their families at the moment. As soon as a new Tracker is chosen, they’ll return to their duties as administrative assistants and researchers. Do you really think you can get Quinn released?”

“I don’t know, but we need to make the attempt. Where does Quinn keep the garbage bags? He mentioned the food in the refrigerator is probably spoiled.
