'It was really not the best approach but it was the best thing I could come up with at that moment. But judging from the way they were this morning, I guess Alan and Mara finally settled on something,' Maureen said to Lucia. 

They had gone on and on about Mara and Alan since we left the house. They could stop saying how romantic the moment of their reconciliation would have been. I rolled my eyes mentally because I dared not do it so they could see.
