Chapter 44. Under Wrap

Maureen's POV 

I had been awake for two days but everybody seemed to be on edge around me as if I could slip into the same state I was in days ago. 

Lance was the worst of them all. Even in the night, he wouldn't let me sleep peacefully. He would wake me up at intervals as if he was afraid of my not ever waking up again.

I didn't want to be angry with him. It wasn't his fault and I totally understood. I would run out of my mind if I were in his shoes. 

It was not until several hours after I had woken up that I realized that my hair was not the normal colour it used to be. 

I would not boast of a black hair but my hair was okay as far as black colours go. It had a little bit of brown thrown in especially at the tip. But when I woke up, my hair was completely a bright gold colour. 

In the bright light, It was almost blinding. I had gone to use the toilet after I woke up from my deep sleep to discover my hair was changed totally.
