Chapter 73. The Result

Maureen's POV

Every word that came out of Mara's mouth cut into my soul like a sword. I never believed in my life that anybody anywhere could be that cruel and mean. 

Mara held on to mum like a drowning person as she cried bitterly. I saw that Lucia was crying too but I couldn't. I was angry. I felt so embittered by what innocent Mara had gone through.

Mara's tears gradually faded into hiccups. She must be feeling broken. She was strong, no doubt. For her to have held so much pain in and helped us with the girls, she was indeed strong. 

'Mara.' A voice called from behind us and that immediately made Mara lift her head from mum's chest and looked at her new comer.

The girl was held between the doctors. She looked pale but that didn't hide her beauty. She had long beautiful lashes that hid her eyes behind them.

'Lisa,' Mara shouted in excitement and ran to hug the fragile looking girl.
