The Council's position was quite fair.

The Beta’s investigation was incognito but now the Council would hear Becca and Alpha Alex in a public hearing. Their statements would be recorded again. However, the evidence Beta Arthus brought in was so overwhelming that whatever Alpha Alex planned to bring as his defense, he stood with his back against the wall.

This case would establish a new legal precedent for werewolf mating.

If Becca prevails, it will affirm what is already customary within the pack. For sure Alpha Alex’s attempt to exploit loopholes in the law would meet with disapproval of the Board. The Council was known for its strict adherence to justice and equity, and any previous attempts to manipulate or bend the rules were met with harsh consequences. This ruling would not only impact Paxton pack but would resonate across all werewolf communities, setting a standard for how mates should be treated and respected.
