Chapter 3

As Maya hung up the phone, she felt excitement and trepidation. What was happening to her? First, the Moon Goddess appeared to her, and now she had a stranger who had dreamed about her and wanted to meet.

She quickly got dressed and left the apartment, her mind racing with questions. Who was this Max, and why did he dream about her? What did the Moon Goddess mean when she said her mate was waiting for her?

Max was already there when she arrived at the coffee shop, waiting for her. He was tall and handsome, with dark hair and bright blue eyes. He stood up as she approached, and they greeted each other with a hug.

“Maya,” he said, smiling at her. “It’s so good to meet you in person.”

Her heart skipped a beat as he looked at her. Something about him drew Maya to him, something she couldn’t explain. They ordered coffee and sat at a table in the corner of the shop.

“So,” Max said, taking a sip of his coffee. “I know this all must seem crazy to you. But I had this dream, and I felt like I had to find you.”

Curious, Maya asked, “What kind of dream was it?”

Max hesitated for a moment before speaking. “I saw you in danger,” he said finally. “Someone was chasing you, and you were scared. But then I appeared, and I was able to help you. After that, I woke up with this phone next to me and your name in my head.”

Listening to Max’s story, Maya felt a sense of disbelief. It all seemed too incredible to be true. But there was something about Max, something that made her feel like he was telling the truth.

As they talked, Maya found herself opening up to Max about her life. She told him about her struggles, her dreams, and her encounter with the Moon Goddess. Max listened intently, and when she finished, he reached out and took her hand.

“Maya,” he said, looking into her eyes. “I know this might sound crazy, but I feel like we’re meant to be together. As the Moon Goddess said, your mate is waiting for you. And I believe that mate is me.”

Her heart raced as Max spoke, and she looked into his eyes, searching for some sign that he was telling the truth. And then, at that moment, she saw it - a spark of recognition, a connection that ran deeper than words.

“I don’t know what to say,” Maya said, her voice shaking. “I don’t even know you.”

“I know,” Max said. “But sometimes, you just know when you’ve found the right person. And I feel like I’ve found that person in you.”

They sat silently for a few moments, their hands still clasped together. And then Max spoke again.

“Maya, will you take a chance on me? Will you give us a chance to see where this goes?”

Maya looked at Max and then down at their intertwined hands. And at that moment, she felt a sense of clarity, knowing deep within her soul that this was the right choice.

“Yes,” Maya said finally, looking back up at Max. “I’ll take a chance on us.”

Max moved closer to her and hugged her tightly. The joy and peace on his face were evident.

“The Moon Goddess brought us together for a reason,” Max informed her. “She knows we are perfect for each other, and she doesn’t want anything to come between us.”

“Yes!” Maya said, smiling. There was so much joy in her heart that it was nearly impossible for her to hide it from Max. Only yesterday, she was homeless and lost, but now, she was with Max, who was interested in starting a future with her.
