Chapter 15. Disgusted

My eyes widened as I quickly stood up and composed myself. I felt fear and anxiety, but I didn't show it. Instead, I forced a smile and faced Lily. 

"You're here," I said. 

"What are you doing?" she asked again, looking back and forth between the me and Roy. 

"Were you here the whole time?" I asked. I tried to distance her from what she had seen. 

"I just arrived," she replied. 

I looked at Roy, who didn't seem to have a trace of fear or anxiety on his face as he stared at me. He was even playing with his lower lip, and that's where my eyes ended up. 

I did my best to divert my gaze away from him. "I'll just go and help Auntie Anne, Lily," I told her.
