Chapter 97. Part Ways
I had been waiting for her to pester me with questions, but she remained silent.
"Amari, my dear," I called her attention.
She turned to me and gave a faint smile.
"Come here," I beckoned.
She grabbed her teddy bear and came over, sitting on my lap.
"Don't you have any questions for Mama?" I asked her.
She paused her teddy bear's arm movements and stared at it for a long time.
"You know what's best for me, Mama. I trust you," she said with a smile. "Ate May said that I should bear with you because you have a lot of problems, and I don't want to cause another problem, Mama. If something happens again, I am here. Tell me, and I will hug you tightly, Mama."
My eyes welled up as I looked at her. "I'm sorry," the words escaped my lips.
"Don't cry, Mama."
"I have something to tell you, Amari," I continued.
