Xavier's POV

"I know that was a shitty idea," I said angrily as I stared at my companion.

"We have to get her awake first. We can't start the treatment before then," Atlas now said as he checked her vitals and looked at the wound.

"Uhh, Alpha?" I moved my head towards him and looked at him questioningly.

"How long has her arm been looking like this?"

I looked at the spot in question and couldn't believe my eyes. The bite had become dangerously infected. Her forearm was swollen and bluish. The veins were prominent, and fluid was leaking from the bite site.

"No idea. I marked her two days ago." I looked slightly panicked at our pack doctor.

"Try to get her awake. Meanwhile, I'll prepare everything for the removal."

I looked at him slightly confused.

"What withdrawal?"

But Atlas just shook his head again.

"Alphas are always the same. Act according to your emotional state and then think."
