It was lunchtime, and Hadley was eating alone in the cafeteria on the first floor of their building. Though she used to be alone, she felt something was missing in her day. While eating her lunch, Hadley read some of her patient’s medical records. She was busy turning the pages when her gaze was subconsciously drawn to the empty seat across from her.
Jethro suddenly popped into her mind. He used to sit in that chair. She paused in her reading and unconsciously smiled as she remembered the meals they had shared. Even though Jethro was so talkative, Hadley was never bothered by his presence. There was never a dull moment when they were together, but she had to be formal at times to keep him quiet.
