Jethro secretly smiled. He inwardly laughed at Hadley’s reaction when she found out the price. He didn’t peg her to be practical and stingy.
“Well, a leather wallet or belt is a safe gift, too,” he joined in Hadley’s plan to retreat.
“You go to that section. I’ll stay here. I’ll also look for other better items,” Hadley ordered again.
Jethro turned around smiling and headed to where the store displayed their branded wallets and belts. While looking, he glanced at Hadley and saw the saleslady returning the expensive pen on display. He didn’t consider the price and presumed it wouldn’t matter since it was for her father-in-law.
He shook his head and shifted his attention to the belts and wallets. Jethro was serious about choosing the gift so they could continue on their schedule.
