Chapter 27. Unfaithful (1)
The weekend passed, and it was yet another day of work at the hospital. Hadley stood solemnly in the middle of the parking lot, staring at the elevator in the distance. Her feet were rooted to the ground and seemed to have taken a mind of their own. They were hesitant to move even if she wanted them.
But in her heart, Hadley honestly didn’t want to go to her office. She was nervous about meeting Jethro.
Hadley took a deep breath and forced her feet to take a step forward. She jumped when her phone suddenly rang. Hadley was just thinking of him, and here he was, calling her.
Hadley has been holding her phone since this morning. She endured doing so even with one bandaged hand. She anxiously wondered why he hadn’t texted her today since she woke up. It was unlike him.
