Chapter 56. Don’t Do It
Hadley could only see Jethro’s eyes jammed with fury and pain. It wasn’t the usual Jethro she knew, so she concluded that something wrong was happening. Anguish covered his face, and there was no sign of gentleness. Suddenly, Jethro cornered her to the wall as she guessed why he was acting weird. Her heart throbbed for Jethro. She had been there in his place. And this kind of sorrow tended to live in someone’s heart forever. It was the agony that could get rid of your sanity.
Hadley leaned against the wall while Jethro locked her in his arms. He held her cheeks with one hand and forced her to retaliate with a stare.
“Je-Jethro, what’s wrong? Let’s talk about it...,” Hadley weakly said.
Jethro seemed not to hear anything. Instead, his eyes voyaged over her body. She was stiffened and pursed her lips. This was only when she realized that she was wearing an above-knee laced strapped nightgown, and by the sudden knock, she forgot she had no bra when she opened the door
