Chapter 6. Consulting the Heart
“You’re nine minutes late,” Hadley said as she entered Jethro’s car, sat in the passenger seat, and locked her seat belt. It had been a week since they started this routine—Jethro would pick Hadley up from the waiting shed near her residence and drop her off at the same spot after their duty. She still hadn’t gotten her license back, and they figured this was the best and most convenient thing to do.
“Caught in a short traffic, Doc Carter,” Jethro answered with his usual smile plastered on his face. He then started driving again.
Because Hadley saw him as someone who brought sunshine, radiance, and positivity, Jethro, being the first person she saw every morning, created an undeniable glow and bloom in her. It was unexplainable, but she seemed to be happier, and Jethro, for sure, noticed it.
