Chapter 13. Life Full of Clichés
Hadley immediately greeted Jethro before he could even approach Benedict. She then grabbed his arms and yanked him away with an awkward smile on her lips.
“I thought you were gonna ignore me,” Hadley said nervously, looking around to ensure Benedict wasn’t looking at them. “So, hey! What are you doing here? I thought you were with your girlfriend...”
When Jethro saw Hadley’s surprised reaction, he frowned instead of responding right away.
“That’s right. But Kathleen had called earlier to say she had an unexpected group study with her friends. She requested another one and a half hours, so here I am waiting for her,” Jethro explained while looking at Hadley’s hand, which was holding his arm tightly. He furrowed his brows, completely confused.
“Then you should have waited for her on campus. Why did you have to come here?” Hadley asked once again.
