Chapter 10. Ego or Jealousy?
Jethro finally opened the door at the third ring of the doorbell. Kathleen greeted him with a quick kiss on the cheek and a lovely smile. “Good morning, baby. Did you just wake up?” she asked as she placed the breakfast she had prepared for Jethro on the table.
“No, I just came out of the bathroom. Sorry, it took too long for me to open the door,” he apologized.
“It’s okay,” she responded as she looked around the place. Kathleen immediately noticed the mess and started tidying up the room. While fixing the couch, she saw the tray Jethro had prepared for Hadley. “Acetaminophen. Do you have a headache?” Kathleen asked, her expression filled with concern.
Jethro hesitated for a moment as he took the tray from her hand. “Ah, yes. I did, but I’m okay now. You don’t have to worry, baby,” he lied, placing the tray on the sink.
“Thank goodness. Come on, you should eat this breakfast. And please, don’t overwork. I want you to take care of your health, okay?” Kathleen
