Chapter 11. Showing Feelings
Benedict was used to Hadley’s taunting and angry responses, but what happened to them that morning completely ruined his whole day. When he remembered it—especially the guy she was with and the fact that she admitted sleeping at his place—he felt like he wanted to throw everything that caught his eye. So when the clock hit six, and it was already dark, Benedict immediately went to a bar downtown and drank with his friends.
The ambiance of the bar was rough. Girls were dancing—almost naked—everywhere, people were smoking, drinking, and gambling, and even some were making out right at the top of their tables.
His friends were used to him being like this.
“Why, all of a sudden, you asked us to go drinking? Didn’t you say that you were on sexual fasting?” Nick, one of Benedict’s friends, said. He was intentionally annoying him.
