We really didn't have the chance to talk before, and this would be the first time that we were going to talk privately, which is why I couldn't help but feel awkward and nervous at the same time.
Growing up, I didn't have any memory of him, and whenever I asked my mom, she always told me how much of a devil my father is, but now that he's back and mom has already accepted him in our lives, I still find it difficult to act naturally in front of him.

It still felt strange to me to call someone a dad; I grew up with only my mom, and then he turned up and wanted to repair our relationship, which I knew would take time and was probably one of the reasons he wanted me to live with them in the UK.
