Aleks let himself out of the store. India Kadnnon had been gone for over five minutes, but he couldn’t bring himself to stop thinking about her. Their brief meeting at the hospital had been interesting, but what had come after had not been as welcome. Their hands had brushed only for a second, a brief second that had opened a closed gate in him, flooding his mind with images of her, of them together. Seeing them intertwined in each other as they shared a chaste kiss had rattled him.

He wasn’t sure what was happening, especially since he’d stopped having visions years ago. He’d resisted the urge to call his brother and ask and had gone about his day, certain it would be unlikely he saw her again, and then he’d bumped into her here.
