The ray of sunshine in the room awakened me. It was time to head home. Aunt Susan would be worried about today’s dad’s company’s tenth anniversary.

I didn’t want to see Scott, not after last night. He’d turned me on just to turn me down. How could he? He keeps saying a relationship between us isn’t right, it’s forbidden. I admit I had forced this on him somehow but last night, I hadn’t forced anything on me. He’d done everything on his own accord, leading on and then left me hanging.

I snuck out without bumping into Mr. Scott. I had three unread messages from Cassie.

First message: Kissed him yet? We don’t mind you coming back to tell us about it.

Second message: Girl where the fuck are you? Your aunt just called, it’s hours. You better be with a man—safe or I’ll scratch your eyes out.

Third message: Okay, now I’m considering calling your aunt to tell her I lied about you being with me. If you see this, call me.<
